I decided to start this experience with a tribute to my Dad. He died 10 years ago while I was on a business trip to Japan. He was a father a son could love but hate at the same time. His protection of his family was overwhelming and taught me how to care and protect those you love. But his self indulgence also taught me the spiral one can take when one is focused on self and pleasure; how it can blind the most caring and loving person.
My Dad taught me a lot of things I will tell you about as we move into this new experience. But for now I will say, he taught me how to ride a bike, drive a car, fix a flat and even how to build a house. But most important he taught me how to build a life and also how easily it can be destroyed.
I have fixed flats, I have built a house and I have built a life. And my Father in heaven has helped me steer away from destruction through the help of His Word, His Church and His people.
God bless my Dad, I know he is in heaven and he knows he has taught me well in his own way that will live on in my family for many generations to come. He was part of God's "Plan for Every Part" which included my life.
A Plan for Every Part
